A unique center for the research of hybrid-electric and electric systems for the mobility sector is being established at BTU Cottbus-Senftenberg. The Central Scientific Institution of the Center for Hybrid Electric Systems Cottbus (chesco ZWE) is researching alternative drives for cross-industry applications. We are starting in the aviation sector and will expand the application fields in the future to include automotive, rail, and shipping.
The aim of the research activity is to reduce climate-damaging emissions and strengthen the regional economy in Lusatia.
A concept for the transfer of research results to the region is currently being developed in the project taf - Transfer of Agile Manufacturing Methods.
The chesco research factory is currently being built in Cottbus-Dissenchen as part of the taf project. Here, agile manufacturing methods can be demonstrated and tested. In addition to a manufacturing area with over 150 systems, a testing area with 8 unique test stands will be established. The project rooms will provide space for workshops and co-working on joint projects with partners.
