The economic region Lausitz, adjacent to the south of Berlin, includes the districts of Dahme-Spreewald, Spree-Neiße/Sprjewja-Nysa, Oberspreewald-Lausitz, Elbe-Elster, and the independent city of Cottbus Cottbus/Chóśebuz.
By resolution of June 23, 2020, the Wirtschaftsregion Lausitz GmbH has been commissioned as the state development company for the Brandenburg part of Lausitz to organize and manage the region. In the federal model project "Companies in the Region", regional actors from the Saxon or Brandenburg Lausitz can test new technology and competence fields.
